You've decided that you need a proofreader or editor to help you with your text. Good decision!

You may have a few questions. How long will it take? How much will it cost? How will changes or corrections be made? Will you still be in control? (Yes, you will!)
I hope you will be able to find some of the answers you are looking for in these pages. But the best way to find out what you need to know is to contact me, by email or phone, for an initial chat. Then we can discuss exactly what your requirements are, and how I might be able to meet them.
Our initial discussion will cover the nature and size of your project, and your timescale. We will also discuss your preferred method of working (for example, Word documents, PDFs or on paper), and we will agree the level of proofreading you require. I may ask you to send me a sample page or two, so that I can assess how long it will take me to do the work. We will agree on a deadline and a fee.
At an early stage of the project I will send you an example of my work to check that you are happy with my approach. As far as possible I will work to your brief, but if I have particular queries as I work through the project I will contact you about them so that we can resolve them together in good time.
I am proficient in using BSI proofreading symbols, and I am also happy to use Track Changes in Word, to mark up PDF documents or to work on paper. I can work with you wherever you are based, and we can communicate by email and/or send documents by Dropbox. Alternatively, we can meet face-to-face if you are in or near Belfast.
Whatever your project, you can be assured of a professional, confidential and trustworthy service.

'I am so relieved to see some of your comments...you’ve nailed a few sentences that I’ve always felt were incredibly awkward, but I was stuck on how to fix them. Not only have your corrected things, but I love how you pointed out why the writing was strange. It’s like a masterclass in writing, and I think it will really help me to avoid pitfalls in the future. ...What you have done so far has truly been so helpful! ...I can’t thank you enough.'
